📍 Location: Aberdeen, Glasgow or Perth – hybrid working 50% in office, 50% WFH

🔁Contract Type: Contract or permanent considered

What you’ll do

• Review and challenge supplier-produced HLDs and LLDs
• Provide technical assurance across infrastructure, network and security workstreams
• Act as the operational representative within technical governance and design authority forums
• Ensure solutions align with operational standards, support models and service management requirements
• Assess designs for supportability, maintainability, resilience and security
• Identify operational risks and service transition gaps early in the design lifecycle
• Review infrastructure, network segmentation, identity management and security architecture proposals
• Work closely with systems integrators, programme teams, operations teams and technical stakeholders
• Ensure monitoring, backup, patching, disaster recovery and support requirements are incorporated into all designs
• Challenge assumptions and ensure solutions meet both programme objectives and operational requirements
• Participate in technical review boards, design authority meetings and governance forums
• Provide recommendations relating to infrastructure, networking, operational support and security best practice

What to bring

• Extensive experience within infrastructure engineering, network engineering or technical infrastructure roles
• Proven background progressing from hands-on engineering into technical leadership, assurance or governance positions
• Experience reviewing and challenging infrastructure and network designs delivered by third-party suppliers or systems integrators
• Strong understanding of infrastructure operations and support within complex enterprise environments
• Experience taking systems through operational acceptance and service transition into live support
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to challenge technical designs constructively and confidently
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience operating within structured governance environments
• Experience within the following technologies:
• VMware
• Cisco Data Centre technologies/Cisco Nexus/Cisco ACI
• Network segmentation, firewall technologies and security controls
• Active Directory
• Privileged Access Management (PAM)
• Backup, disaster recovery and operational support models
