Due to increased service demand, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Health Advisor to join our well‑established, in‑house Occupational Health team at Durham County Council.
Our SEQOHS-accredited service supports over 16,000 employees, alongside external contracts, across one of the largest and most diverse councils in the North East. This is a varied and rewarding role within a supportive, forward‑thinking service committed to the highest standards of employee health and wellbeing.
đź’Ľ About the role
You’ll deliver a full range of occupational health services, including pre‑employment assessments, sickness absence consultations, health surveillance, immunisations and workplace assessments.
Working in a nurse‑led environment, you’ll enjoy autonomy in your practice while benefiting from strong clinical support, including regular supervision and input from an Occupational Health Nurse Manager and Occupational Health Physician.

✅ What you’ll need
- RN/RGN/RMN qualification
- NMC‑recordable Occupational Health qualification (Part 3) or equivalent diploma/degree
- Experience working in an Occupational Health Nursing environment
- Strong communication skills and knowledge of current professional standards
