Job Overview

Due to an internal move an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Safeguarding Team as a Senior Safeguarding practitioner.

The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate a wide variety of experience in both children's and adult safeguarding.

This post has responsibility for working under the guidance of the Lead Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Lead Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults (MCA /DoLS / MAPPA / Prevent Focus) to strengthen delivery of safeguarding assurance processes across LPT and the wider Leicester City, Leicestershire, and Rutland area.

  • To deliver effective safeguarding supervision to staff working within front line services, ensuring risk areas within cases are managed effectively and that staff are adequately supported.
  • To support & contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of LPT safeguarding education and training programmes.
  • To work in partnership with partner agencies and professionals, within safeguarding processes to improve outcomes for all using the Whole Family approach adopted by LPT.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)

You will work as part of the LPT Safeguarding Team comprising of the Head of Safeguarding, Lead Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults (MCA/DoLS/MAPPA/Prevent Focus), Lead Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children, specialist safeguarding practitioners and administrative support. In the role you will support the development and delivery of high-quality safeguarding practice across the range of services provided by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT).
