Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Build and deploy the AI layer of a private-markets platform scaling from $100m+ to $1bn+ in assets under management.

London | Hybrid | Full-time

£240,000 annual total compensation: cash and equity

Since 2019, EquiTie has grown from $100k to more than $100m in assets under management, profitably and without outside funding. We give investors access to high-growth private companies and have backed businesses including OpenAI, SpaceX, Figure AI, Groq, Reddit and Poppi.

We are now building an AI-powered investor app and operating platform. We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with our founders, investment team and users, turning complex private-market workflows into production software.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not pre-sales or traditional consulting. You will identify high-value problems, prototype solutions with users, deploy them into live workflows and own the resulting systems in production.

What you will do
  • Work directly with investors, founders and internal teams to understand how they make decisions and where software can create leverage
  • Build and deploy LLM-powered search, agents, RAG pipelines, copilots and human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Ship investor-facing products across onboarding, personalisation, dashboards, payments and reporting
  • Develop reliable frontend, backend, APIs, data models and cloud services
  • Design evaluation, guardrails, observability and security for production AI systems
  • Automate workflows across investment research, deal screening, diligence, memo creation and portfolio monitoring
  • Move rapidly from ambiguous problem to working product, test it with real users and iterate based on evidence

Within your first 90 days, you should have shipped a meaningful user-facing AI product and replaced at least one high-friction manual workflow.

What we are looking for
  • Evidence that you have personally shipped and owned production software end to end
  • Strong full-stack engineering skills across modern web frameworks, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure
  • Practical experience building production LLM systems—not simply connecting an interface to a model API
  • The ability to work closely with non-technical users, identify the underlying problem and translate it into software
  • Strong product judgement, commercial awareness and clear communication
  • Comfort operating with autonomy in a lean, founder-led environment
  • A bias towards deployment: you care whether products are adopted and useful, not merely technically interesting

Experience in finance or private markets is not required. Capability, learning velocity and evidence of exceptional work matter more than tenure, degree or previous employer.

What we offer
  • £240,000 annual total compensation, comprising cash and equity
  • Meaningful ownership in a profitable, bootstrapped company
  • Private health insurance and an annual wellness budget
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working from our London office
  • Direct access to the founders and significant influence over product and technical decisions
  • Exposure to category-defining private technology companies
  • A path to technical and product leadership as EquiTie scales towards $1bn+ AUM

Apply through LinkedIn with your CV or profile. Include a GitHub, portfolio or brief description of something you personally built and deployed. No cover letter is required.

You do not need to match every bullet. We are interested in engineers who can understand difficult problems, build quickly and make software work in the real world.
