Senior Full Stack Software Engineer – FinTech

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + Equity + Benefits

The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll take ownership of high-impact projects across the product lifecycle, working closely with Product, Data, and Commercial teams to deliver solutions that create real value for customers.

You'll be involved in everything from designing and building new features to influencing architecture, mentoring team members, and helping shape engineering best practices as the company continues to scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications.
• Lead the delivery of complex, cross-functional projects from concept through to deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Data, and Commercial teams.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy.
• Mentor and support other engineers within the team.
• Champion engineering best practices, testing, and code quality.
• Drive continuous improvements across systems, processes, and team performance.
• Help shape the future growth of the engineering function.

Requirements

• Commercial experience developing modern web applications.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, etc.).
• Backend development experience with Python or similar technologies.
• Experience delivering projects end-to-end in a collaborative environment.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and code reviews.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset and a passion for solving complex problems.

Desirable Experience

• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Docker, Kubernetes, and containerised environments.
• SQL and database design.
• Messaging and event-driven architectures.
• UX-focused development and product-led engineering environments.
