Senior Technical Sales Engineer – Critical Power & Electrical Infrastructure
Location: Home-based, UK (Nationwide Travel)
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Technical Sales Engineer to drive business growth across critical power and electrical infrastructure markets. Working with customers from project concept through to order placement, you will help deliver solutions that improve electrical safety, network resilience, reliability, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a pipeline of new business and major project opportunities.
- Influence specifications with end users, consultants, OEMs, system integrators, and contractors.
- Build relationships with switchgear manufacturers, panel builders, UPS manufacturers, EPCs, and engineering consultants.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and CPD sessions.
- Manage opportunities through design, tender, and construction phases to secure orders.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and account plans using Salesforce.
- Support growth initiatives across energy, utilities, renewables, BESS, data centres, rail, marine, defence, and nuclear sectors.
Required Qualifications
- HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or business development.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power distribution.
- Experience selling or specifying electrical products, systems, or solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with switchgear, UPS, MCCs, control systems, protection systems, or electrical monitoring technologies.
- Exposure to sectors such as utilities, renewables, BESS, data centres, defence, rail, marine, or nuclear.
