This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of site operations, lead high-performing teams and play a vital role in delivering essential infrastructure projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.As a Site Supervisor, you'll be responsible for ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and in line with customer expectations, while fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Working across a variety of projects, you'll be the key link between our site teams, customers and operational management, helping ensure every project is a success.What You'll Be DoingAs a Site Supervisor, you'll take the lead in managing day-to-day site activities and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.Key responsibilities will include:Leading site teams, subcontractors and operational resources to deliver successful road planing projectsEnsuring full compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and legislative requirementsConducting site briefings, risk assessments, STOP Assessments and ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and maintainedManaging plant, vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe, compliant and ready for operationBuilding strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure excellent service deliveryMonitoring project performance, productivity and resource utilisation to maximise operational efficiencySupporting, coaching and developing team members while promoting a positive and engaged working environmentManaging and controlling costs, identifying efficiencies and supporting commercial performance across contractsEnsuring quality standards are achieved and all required documentation and records are completed accurately and on timeWhat We Are Looking ForWe're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated leader who is passionate about safety, operational excellence and developing people.The successful candidate will have:Previous experience within the road planing, highways, surfacing or civil engineering sectorProven experience supervising operational teams in a fast-paced site environmentStrong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and a commitment to creating a safe workplaceAn understanding of surfacing methods, planing operations and plant capabilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to lead, motivate and develop teams to achieve high levels of performanceStrong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesA proactive, customer-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvementEssential QualificationsCSCS QualificationNVQ (or equivalent industry experience)MPQC/EPIC Competency CardJoin Tarmac and become part of a team that delivers the infrastructure communities rely on every day.
