Software Engineer - Mid Level
About the Opportunity
Quant Insight is looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the software behind our quantitative financial products.
This is a hands-on role working at the intersection of software engineering and quantitative finance. You'll work closely with software engineers and in-house quants to take financial algorithms and product ideas from concept through to production.
What You'll Be Doing
l Design, implement, test, and deploy production financial software.
l Work primarily with Python and C++.
l Turn quantitative models and financial algorithms into robust production systems.
l Build and maintain customer-facing APIs and applications.
l Develop and maintain services running on AWS.
l Work across the full software lifecycle, from design through deployment and ongoing support.
l Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and CI/CD processes.
l Diagnose and resolve issues in production systems.
What We're Looking For
l 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
l Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
l Professional experience with Python, C++, and/or C.
l Experience with AWS, ideally including EC2, ECS, and/or DynamoDB.
l Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
l Understanding of HTTP, DNS, and networking fundamentals.
l Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
l Ability to independently design, implement, and deploy software, with work reviewed by senior engineers.
l Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have
l Experience in financial markets, quantitative finance, or fintech.
l Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
l Experience with MySQL and database design.
l Experience with Docker/containerisation.
l Experience working with quantitative researchers, mathematical models, or large/time-series datasets.
l Experience developing REST APIs or other web services.
