Lead Solution Architect | Contract (6-12 Months)

Hybrid UK | Strong Day Rate


1-2 days onsite in Luton. Airline client.


We’re looking for an experienced Lead Solution Architect to drive end-to-end solution design across large-scale, mission-critical programmes. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering and Delivery teams, ensuring multiple workstreams align to a single architecture vision while balancing business outcomes, scalability and technical excellence.


Key Responsibilities

• Define and own solution architecture across complex programmes and multiple product teams

• Create architecture roadmaps, standards, guardrails and reusable design patterns

• Lead cross-team integration design, data flows and platform alignment

• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned to enterprise strategy

• Manage architecture governance, risks, dependencies and technical decision-making

• Influence senior stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Mentor engineering teams and promote architecture best practice


Required Experience


• 6+ years' experience in Solution Architecture within large enterprise environments

• Strong stakeholder management across technical and business functions

• Expertise in cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), microservices, APIs and event-driven systems

• Experience leading multi-team transformation programmes

• Strong understanding of Agile and product-led delivery models

• TOGAF or similar architecture certification desirable

• Experience within airline, transport or operational environments is advantageous
