Trainee Paralegal - Residential Conveyancing
Talbots Law is looking for a proactive and organised Paralegal to join our established National Conveyancing Department team based at our Waterfront office. This is an excellent opportunity for either someone with residential conveyancing experience or someone who is looking to develop their career within this specialist and growing area of property law.
You will work closely with experienced lawyers, supporting a broad range of conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion. The role offers exposure to high-quality work, ongoing development and a structured pathway for progression within one of the region's leading property teams.

What does the job involve?
- Assisting lawyers with the conduct and management of residential conveyancing transactions from inception through to completion, including leasehold and freehold properties, remortgages and transfers of equity.
- Taking responsibility for file progression, client updates, third-party liaison and maintaining accurate records on case management systems and portals.
- Drafting and reviewing standard documentation, undertaking post-completion work and supporting the wider team with client matters.
- Dealing proactively with client, developer, lender and third-party enquiries by telephone, email and online portals.
- Ensuring compliance with SRA, Lexcel, Law Society Quality Scheme standards, SARs and accounting requirements.
What do you need?
- Previous experience working within a busy residential conveyancing is advantageous, but not essential
- A theoretical knowledge of new build conveyancing and the residential property transaction process perhaps gained in education
- A passion for delivering outstanding client care to clients, referrers and colleagues and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients alike
- Effective administrative, organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work accurately to deadlines.
- A proactive attitude, meticulous attention to detail and a genuine desire to progress within a career in conveyancing.
