The Triage and Prevention Officer plays a vital role in supporting the community by assessing housing and support needs, providing early intervention, and preventing homelessness. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Sutton At Hone. Key responsibilities include conducting housing assessments, providing advice to residents, connecting individuals with local services, and working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organizations to deliver timely and effective support. The Triage and Prevention Officer will also maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits systems, and local government policies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide advice and guidance to diverse individuals
- Proficiency in case management, record-keeping, and administrative tasks
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and assessment skills for identifying residents' needs and addressing challenges
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, agencies, and stakeholders in providing holistic support
- Empathy and commitment to supporting individuals and preventing homelessness
- Experience working in a housing, social care, or customer service environment preferred
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for case management and communication
