Private Patients at the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital is recruiting medical secretaries to support the exciting development of the service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team who are passionate about the future of the NHS through supporting patients, accessing private care in the NHS setting, investing in our NHS.

This role will support specialist services deliver private care to patients, this will include liaising with patients, as well as clinical and admin teams across the trust. Supporting the senior team as this service is being developed.

This role is well placed for both internal and external candidates to develop their skills within the trust, with a varied and well-rounded role that would suit an individual who is interested in personal development. As this is a new role, this will allow the successful individual(s) to help mold this opportunity alongside their senior administrators.

The successful candidate will work alongside the senior private patients’ team, supporting with data management, patient communication alongside a wide range of departments. This role is varied but will require the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate exemplary communication skills as will as being able to use a wide range of IT systems across the trust.

The main duties include but are not limited to-

  • Telecommunication with patients and insurers
  • Email management
  • Data management
  • RTT (Referral to treatment) management
  • Writing of electronic letters
  • Patient facing communication.
  • Support meetings with minute taking as necessary.
