Passionate about Yorkshire’s wildlife?
Join The Trust’s Fundraising & Engagement Committee as a Volunteer Advisor. Use your expertise to help grow income, strengthen community engagement, and build the supporter base needed to protect nature and deliver our charitable goals.
What difference will you make?
In this role we want you to have a strategic, longterm impact and envisage you to potentially help us with the following, depending on your expertise
What will you be doing?
We believe the best committees bring together different perspectives, and experience from outside the conservation sector is a real asset here — the fresh thinking it brings is exactly what strengthens this Committee. That said, if you do have a conservation background, that's welcome too. We are particularly interested in people with experience in one or more of the following areas

- Help shape the long-term fundraising and engagement strategy for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
- Bring fresh thinking, external expertise and constructive challenge to the Fundraising & Engagement Committee.
- Support the Trust to grow and diversify income through areas such as major giving, corporate partnerships, legacy fundraising, digital engagement or visitor experience.
- Help us better understand and reach different audiences, including younger people and communities we may not currently engage with.
- Strengthen our campaigns, communications and supporter engagement so more people connect with Yorkshire’s wildlife, climate and nature recovery work.
- Contribute to building a wider supporter base and stronger fundraising pipeline, helping the Trust deliver more for wildlife and wild places.
- Broaden the perspectives shaping our work by bringing different professional backgrounds, lived experience and ways of thinking.
- We are particularly interested in people with experience in one or more of the following areas
- Digital expertise, particularly in communications and marketing
- High-value fundraising, from any sector — major donors, corporate partnerships, legacy giving
- Mass engagement and campaigning, especially reaching younger audiences
- Visitor experience, with a strong customer focus — for example from a visitor attraction background
