INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

This part-time (0.4FTE) post is available from January 2027 on a renewable term of three years in the first instance.

The Role

As part of the changes recently announced to leadership arrangements in Cornwall, we are advertising internally for a new fractional role: Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Business and Regional Engagement – Cornwall).

As we continue to deliver our Strategy 2030 ambitions around people, place and partnership, this part time role will play a pivotal part in strengthening the University's contribution to Cornwall's economic, social and civic development.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Business Engagement and Innovation, the postholder will provide strategic leadership for business engagement, innovation and regional partnerships across Cornwall, helping to connect our distinctive strengths in research, education and knowledge exchange with regional, national and international opportunities.

The role will work across faculties, professional services and external partners to drive innovation, foster impactful collaborations, support skills development and enhance the University's regional influence through political engagement and income generation.

We are seeking an individual with a strong track record of academic leadership, partnership development and strategic delivery, together with a passion for place-based engagement and a commitment to maximising the University's impact in Cornwall. This is a unique opportunity to shape and champion Cornwall's role within our wider Business Engagement and Innovation agenda whilst serving as a senior ambassador for the University both regionally and beyond. The role will be based on the Penryn campus.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Business Engagement and Innovation would encourage colleagues based in Cornwall at Associate Professor or Professor level who have the relevant experience and ambition to consider applying.
