Billing Assistant, Manchester

Join our Group Finance team as a Billing Assistant, supporting a well-established billing function. Reporting to the Group Billing Manager, you will become part of a collaborative team supported by Team Leaders and Senior Billers with deep legal-billing expertise.

This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity offering structured training, hands-on coaching and genuine scope for development within a team known for internal progression and career growth.

What You'll Do

• Support the Billing team with day-to-day administration while learning the full end-to-end billing process for UK and international offices.
• Prepare straightforward bills using clear instructions, agreed processes and team checklists.
• Process routine requests from the team mailbox, escalating non-standard or unclear queries appropriately.
• Check matter details, time entries, client references and billing information for accuracy and completeness before review.
• Assist with invoice amendments, credit notes and invoice reissues, helping maintain an efficient billing service.
• Keep billing records and supporting documentation accurate and up to date at all times.
• Play an active part in busy billing periods and wider team priorities, building your knowledge through structured training in legal billing, 3E Workflow, ServiceNow, VAT awareness and internal controls.

Who We're Looking For

• Previous experience in billing, finance or administration is desirable, but not essential - full training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numerical information.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach to working with stakeholders.
• A positive, resilient mindset with the confidence to ask questions and escalate issues when needed.
• Someone motivated to build a long-term career in billing and Group Finance.
