Business Analyst – Product Reference Data
Synechron is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to work on an engagement to design and implement an enterprise Product Reference Data capability. This is a strategic initiative to establish consistent, governed product definitions, hierarchies, and relationships across global operations.
The Senior Business Analyst will translate business requirements into a validated, implementation-ready Product Reference Data model. Working closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and technical teams, you will shape the model through discovery, challenge, and validation—not simply document requirements.
Role:
- Lead discovery across product governance, reference data, and operational systems
- Capture business, functional, and non-functional requirements, use cases, and user scenarios
- Define authoritative product terminology, taxonomies, hierarchies, and business glossary content
- Build requirements traceability and validate conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Develop use-case catalogues covering product creation, maintenance, search, reporting, and processing
- Identify gaps, edge cases, critical data elements, quality requirements, and governance needs
- Facilitate workshops with business SMEs, data teams, system owners, and architecture stakeholders
- Define integration requirements for data sources and consumers
- Present recommendations to design authorities and governance forums
- Challenge assumptions, resolve conflicting requirements, and assess implementation feasibility
Experience:
- 7+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in enterprise data management
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and data model validation
- Knowledge of reference data, master data management, or data governance
- Ability to interpret logical and physical data models
- Experience working across business, architecture, and technology teams
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills
- Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred
This is a long term rolling contract - x3 days as week in London office - Strong market rates inside IR35
