Business Support Consultant
Join us as a Business Support Consultant within Fraud Operations, part of Group Customer Operations, where you'll help support customers during some of their most vulnerable moments. Working closely with the Head of Fraud Operations and the wider leadership team, you'll play a central role in keeping the function organised, connected and operating effectively. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership, understand how a large fraud operation is run, and build valuable experience that can support your future career growth.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident supporting senior leaders with competing priorities. You'll prepare leadership briefings and governance materials, coordinate key communications and engagement activity, and create high-quality presentations that turn complex information into clear, impactful messages. Trusted with sensitive information, you'll be a strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels, adapt quickly to changing demands, and bring a positive, collaborative approach to every challenge.
Whether you've previously worked as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or in a similar business support role, this position offers the chance to broaden your experience, develop new skills and make a real impact across Fraud Operations. With coaching, hands-on learning and support from experienced leaders, you'll be empowered to grow your confidence, take ownership of key activities, and become a trusted partner to the leadership team.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our Swindon site approximately once per week. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.

What you’ll be doing
At the heart of Fraud Operations, you'll help enable the teams responsible for protecting customers and the organisation from economic crime. Working closely with Operations Managers and senior leaders, you'll provide high-quality business and operational support that keeps priorities on track, governance running smoothly, and key fraud prevention activity delivered effectively within a highly regulated environment. This is an opportunity to gain broad exposure across Fraud Operations, supporting senior decision-making while developing a deep understanding of fraud, risk and operational management.
You'll play a key role in delivering business-critical initiatives, from regulatory commitments and fraud risk mitigation activity to operational change programmes. Coordinating plans across multiple workstreams, you'll manage actions, risks and dependencies, prepare leadership and governance materials, and provide clear reporting that helps leaders understand performance, risks and progress. Your ability to turn complex information into concise, meaningful insights will help drive informed decisions and provide confidence that the function remains effective, resilient and customer-focused.
Working with colleagues across Fraud Operations, Protect and Group Customer Operations, you'll also contribute to culture, inclusion and colleague engagement while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. In return, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact, work closely with senior leaders, and develop valuable experience within a critical area of the business.
