Buyer
Not every buying role involves supporting offshore vessels, specialist subsea equipment and major international energy projects. This one does.
At Enshore Subsea, we're delivering complex offshore engineering and construction projects across the UK and internationally. With our project portfolio growing, we're looking for a capable, commercially minded Buyer to strengthen our Supply Chain team at our Blyth facility.
We're looking for someone who takes real ownership of their work. Someone who can take a requirement, find the right supplier, negotiate a competitive deal and make sure the goods or services arrive where they're needed, when they're needed.
The Role
You'll support a diverse range of procurement requirements across offshore construction projects, marine operations and specialist engineering activities.
One day you could be sourcing hydraulic components for a subsea trencher; the next, coordinating specialist fabrication in Europe or securing urgent materials for an offshore vessel mobilisation.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing end-to-end purchasing activities, from requisition and RFQ through to delivery.
- Sourcing and negotiating with UK and international suppliers.
- Procuring engineering materials, specialist equipment, fabricated components and subcontract services.
- Working closely with Engineering, Projects and Operations to understand technical and delivery requirements.
- Taking ownership of supplier performance, lead times and delivery commitments.
- Identifying opportunities to improve cost, efficiency and sourcing arrangements.
- Supporting international purchasing activities, including consideration of Incoterms and logistics requirements.
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in people who bring
- Proven purchasing experience in an engineering, manufacturing, construction, marine or similar technical environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and confident negotiation skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The confidence to work independently, challenge requirements and take accountability for results.
- Excellent supplier relationship management and communication skills.
Experience in offshore energy, subsea, marine operations or international procurement would be a real advantage, but it's not essential.
We value practical experience, initiative and commercial ability over qualifications alone.
Why Enshore Subsea?
You'll join a business operating at the forefront of offshore energy and subsea engineering, supporting technically challenging projects across multiple international locations.
This is an opportunity to develop your experience in project procurement, work alongside experienced engineering and operational teams, and make a genuine contribution to the delivery of complex offshore projects.
If you're a Buyer who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure and wants to see the real-world impact of the work you do, we'd love to hear from you!
