Are you passionate about inclusive education and committed to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential?  We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective teacher with SEN responsibility to join our caring and ambitious school community

This exciting opportunity offers flexibility for the right candidate. We welcome applications from:

  • An experienced class teacher wishing to combine classroom teaching with SEND leadership responsibilities, attracting a 0.6 SEN allowance; or
  • A qualified or aspiring SENCo wishing to undertake a larger SEND leadership role, with responsibilities and remuneration negotiable according to experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive practice and removing barriers to learning to achieve the best outcomes for all children
  • Work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, parents and external agencies to support children with additional needs.
  • Contribute to the assessment, planning and provision for pupils with SEND.
  • Lead and develop aspects of SEND provision across the school, depending on experience and the agreed role.
  • Support colleagues in implementing effective adaptive teaching strategies.
  • Have a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and SEND.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be resilient, reflective and keen to contribut to whole-school improvement.

For applicants seeking the SENCo role, responsibilities may include

  • Strategic leadership of SEND across the school.
  • Oversight of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Liaison with external agencies and local authority services.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of SEND provision.
  • Leading professional development for staff.
  • Supporting the continuous development of an inclusive culture where every child can thrive. 
  • QTS
  • A formal SENCo qualification or willingness to undertake one is desirable.
