GGRS Energie, part of the Kelly Group, installs commercial solar PV and battery storage across the UK on factories, warehouses, farms, schools and public buildings. We're growing our commercial installation team and need experienced roofers who know solar mounting systems.
You'll install mounting systems and solar panels on commercial roofs - profiled metal, flat/membrane and pitched tile - working with our electricians and reporting to the site Team Leader. Safe working at height is central to every job. We're hiring at three levels: Lead Roofers who run the roof team and set out arrays, experienced Roofers, and Runners who move materials, load out and support the team on the roof (a good entry route into solar).
What You will be Doing
- Set out and install rail and mounting systems on trapezoidal, standing seam and composite metal roofs
- Install ballasted and mechanically fixed systems on flat and membrane roofs
- Install hooks, rails and panels on pitched tile and slate roofs, making good any disturbed tile
- Lift, position and fix solar panels to the array layout
- Install DC cable management on the roof under the electrician's direction
- Work safely from MEWPs, scaffold and edge protection, including near fragile roof areas
- Follow RAMS and keep the site tidy and secure
- Support remedial and maintenance works on existing systems
Essential Experience
- Lead Roofer and Roofer: proven commercial solar PV mounting / roofing experience (not required for Runners)
- Experience on profiled metal and flat commercial roofs
- Confident and safe working at height
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Happy to travel, including nights away
Desirable Experience
- IPAF (3a/3b) and/or PASMA
- Working at Height and fragile roof training
- Experience with K2, Renusol, Van der Valk or Schletter mounting systems
- Pitched roof (tile and slate) experience
- NVQ in roofing or cladding
