Licensed sponsor Hatfield Full-time Posted 1 hour ago

At Affinity Water, we're investing in technology to deliver better services for our customers and support the future of our business. We're looking for an experienced Full Stack Application Developer with strong commercial experience in Ionic and Capacitor, alongside Angular, to join our growing team.

This role has a particular focus on cross-platform mobile application development using Ionic and Capacitor. You'll play a key role in designing, developing and delivering modern mobile and web applications, helping us create engaging user experiences and reliable digital solutions for our customers and colleagues.

You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, using Ionic and Capacitor to build and deploy applications for Android and iOS, alongside Angular for application development and .NET technologies for backend services and API integration.

Essential requirement: Candidates must have hands-on commercial experience with Angular, Ionic and Capacitor. Strong practical experience with Ionic and Capacitor is a particular priority for this role.

What you'll be doing

As a Full Stack Application Developer, you will develop and maintain cross-platform mobile and web applications, with a strong emphasis on Ionic and Capacitor. You will work collaboratively with the wider development team to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing applications, from initial design and development through to testing, deployment and ongoing support.

You will also

  • Design, develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Ionic and Angular.
  • Use Capacitor to build, integrate, test and deploy applications for Android and iOS, including troubleshooting platform-specific issues.
  • Develop and maintain Angular applications with responsive, accessible and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Integrate mobile and web applications with secure .NET REST APIs and backend services.
  • Develop and deploy cloud-based solutions using AWS services and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot mobile-specific issues, including differences between browser, Android and iOS environments.
  • Apply mobile application security best practices and ensure applications are reliable, maintainable and performant.
  • Write clean, reusable and well-tested code in line with development standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, share technical knowledge and support other developers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across application development, testing, deployment and release processes.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative developer with proven commercial experience delivering applications using Ionic and Capacitor, as well as Angular. You'll understand the practical challenges of cross-platform mobile development and be confident taking applications from development through to deployment on mobile devices.

You will enjoy solving technical challenges, working in an Agile environment and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

Essential experience

  • Ionic: Strong hands-on commercial experience developing and maintaining cross-platform mobile applications using Ionic.
  • Capacitor: Practical commercial experience using Capacitor to build, configure, troubleshoot and release applications for Android and iOS.
  • Angular: At least three years' commercial experience developing applications using Angular.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering mobile applications through development, testing and deployment, ideally across both Android and iOS.
  • Experience integrating applications with .NET REST APIs and backend services.
  • Experience working with AWS services, including:
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon API Gateway
  • AWS CloudFormation
  • AWS CodeBuild
  • Experience working within Agile software delivery teams.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver work effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Please note: Ionic and Capacitor experience is a key selection criterion, not simply an advantage. Candidates must be able to demonstrate practical commercial experience with both technologies, alongside Angular.

Desirable experience

  • Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Knowledge of native mobile integrations and platform-specific capabilities using Capacitor plugins.
  • Experience troubleshooting mobile application builds, plugins, permissions and device-specific issues.
  • Knowledge of Progressive Web Applications (PWAs).
  • Experience with responsive application development.
  • Experience with unit testing and automated testing practices.
  • Knowledge of mobile application security best practices.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools, CI/CD pipelines and code quality tools.
  • Experience with Optimizely.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and NoSQL databases.
