About RD

RD is a global group headquartered in London, operating across creative production, studio facilities, and equipment rental. RD Content, our production company, produces world-class films, commercials, and branded content for major brands across the world. Alongside RD Content, the group includes:

  • RD Studios – London's premier film studio facility
  • RD Rentals and a recent acquisition – camera, lighting, and production equipment rental
  • International offices in New York, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore

We are a fast-growing group operating across multiple jurisdictions with real financial complexity. This role sits within RD Content, our production business, based at our Holborn office.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the later stages of their accounting qualification - ideally within the last 12 to 18 months of completing their exams - or for someone with hands-on finance experience who is ready to step up into a Finance Manager position for the first time.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will be involved in month-end close, management accounts, cashflow, payroll, and project-level reporting across RD Content and the wider group. Over time, you will take on greater ownership of these areas as you develop in the role. You will also support the development of a small finance team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Finance Operations

  • Assist with day-to-day financial operations including bank reconciliations, purchase to pay, client invoicing, and fixed asset register maintenance.
  • Manage bank accounts and payment platforms across HSBC, Revolut, and Confirma; support timely supplier settlements.
  • Work with the Finance Director to review and improve finance processes across RD Content and group subsidiaries.
  • Support and help develop the Finance Assistant.

2. Management Accounts & Reporting

  • Support the Finance Director in month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow statements, with supporting commentary and analysis.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Support on preparing accrued and deferred income schedules
  • Maintain accurate records of accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations.
  • Help develop and maintain KPI reporting for senior management.
  • Support statutory reporting requirements and assist with the external audit process.

3. Cashflow & Payments

  • Support the Finance Director in monitoring the group's cashflow position.
  • Assist with cashflow forecasting inputs and reporting.
  • Help ensure employees, suppliers, and sub-contractors are paid in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Support credit control activities and monitor outstanding debts across the group.

4. Payroll

  • Support the Finance Director with monthly payroll processing across the group.
  • Coordinate payroll-related queries with managers and the People & Culture team.
  • Over time, and with appropriate oversight, take on greater day-to-day responsibility for payroll processing.

5. Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Assist the Finance Director in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Support project-level financial performance analysis for production, studio, and rental activities.
  • Help maintain the fixed asset register and support capex tracking.
  • Assist with financial risk reporting as required.

6. Revenue Recognition & Project Finance

  • Work with production and post-production teams to calculate and update revenue recognition weekly.
  • Ensure alignment between project progress, budgets, and revenue milestones.
  • Track outstanding invoices and support credit control processes.

7. Cross-Company & International Coordination

  • Liaise with RD's international external advisors in New York, Abu Dhabi, and Singapore on intercompany reconciliations and financial queries.
  • Maintain financial consistency across the group.
  • Support the Finance Director in business-partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and suppliers.

About You

Essential

  • Progressing through an accounting qualification (ACCA or CIMA), ideally in the final stages, or recently qualified.
  • Some prior experience in a finance role; exposure to management accounts, cashflow, or payroll is an advantage.
  • Strong Excel and data skills; comfortable working with accounting systems (ideally Xero experience is useful).
  • Accurate and detail-oriented - bank reconciliations and revenue recognition demand precision.
  • Good communicator, able to work effectively with non-finance colleagues across production and operations.
  • Proactive, ownership-minded, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and willing to roll up their sleeves across a broad range of tasks.

Desirable

  • Experience in a production, studio, broadcast, or equipment rental business.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or intercompany accounting.
  • Familiarity with Revolut, Confirma, or Cledara.
  • Knowledge of foreign currency transactions.

Why Join RD?

  • A genuine step-up opportunity - grow into the Finance Manager role with real support from an experienced Finance Director.
  • Broad exposure to production finance, studio operations, rental businesses, and international group accounting.
  • Your work will have direct visibility with senior leadership and shape real business decisions.
  • Five days a week in our Holborn office, with occasional time at our Acton studio and rentals base - you will be close to the teams and projects you are supporting.
  • Real opportunity to develop your career and grow with a fast-expanding group.
