Role Summary

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will take ownership of core financial reporting, control and compliance activities across multiple legal entities. This is a hands-on role suited to a technically strong qualified accountant who can deliver robust financial management while identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a scalable finance operating model, enabling senior finance leadership to focus on strategic and commercial priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly financial close and reporting process across multiple UK entities.
  • Manage general ledger integrity, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and fixed asset accounting.
  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations and group consolidation activities.
  • Maintain cash management processes, including cashbook reconciliations, supplier payments and associated controls.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation of lending and related transactional activities.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements and financial compliance obligations.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and year-end schedules and coordinate external audit activities.
  • Apply technical accounting standards, including FRS 102, and prepare supporting accounting papers where required.
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance and process documentation across the finance function.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements using modern finance tools and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders across finance, operations, legal and regulatory teams to support business objectives.

To Be Suitable

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Proven experience leading month-end, financial reporting and financial control processes.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including preparation of statutory accounts and application of UK accounting standards.
  • Experience operating within a multi-entity business environment.
  • Strong cash management, reconciliation and financial control capability.
  • Exposure to regulated financial services, lending, payments or fintech environments would be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting external audits and working with professional advisers.
  • Strong systems aptitude, with ERP experience and a track record of driving process improvements.
  • Demonstrable interest in automation, AI and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced and growth-oriented environment with high levels of ownership and accountability.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-growth, Private Equity-backed business and take ownership of a broad finance remit. The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, the opportunity to influence the future shape of the finance function and the chance to drive meaningful improvements across reporting, control and automation.
