Graduate Data Analyst

Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Location: Bristol office and customer sites around the UK

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Graduate, entry-level

About the role

We're looking for a Graduate Data Analyst who wants to develop a broad range of technical and commercial skills in a growing technology business.

Your primary responsibility will be analysing monitoring data, producing clear, accurate client reports and helping develop and improve our automated reporting tools.

But this isn't a traditional, narrowly defined data analyst role. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to technical sales, project delivery and software development, working alongside colleagues across the business.

You'll be given meaningful responsibility early on, with guidance and support from experienced team members. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes initiative and is enthusiastic about learning new skills.

What you'll be doing

Data analysis and reporting

  • Analyse environmental monitoring data and produce clear, accurate client reports.
  • Identify trends, anomalies and data quality issues.
  • Maintain and improve Atmo's report builder and help automate reporting processes.

Supporting the wider team

  • Sales: Provide technical input into bids, proposals and client discussions.
  • Project delivery: Help plan, set up and deliver monitoring projects.
  • Software development: Work with the software team to improve our platform, reporting tools and data processes.
  • Clients: Help explain technical findings and communicate project updates.

Who we're looking for

  • Takes initiative, solves problems and sees tasks through.
  • Enjoys variety and is willing to help wherever needed.
  • Is organised, adaptable and pays attention to detail.
  • Works well with others and can also work independently.
  • Is enthusiastic about learning and developing new skills.

Essential skills

  • A degree (completed or expected) in data science, statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using Python for data analysis (e.g. pandas, matplotlib).
  • Experience with basic queries, joins and aggregates in SQL.
  • A good understanding of statistics and data interpretation.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable skills

  • Experience working with real-world datasets.
  • Knowledge of data modelling (e.g. Django ORM, SQLAlchemy).
  • Exposure to JavaScript, web applications or software development.
  • Familiarity with software development tools like Git and Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience using design software (e.g. Figma).
  • Experience organising or supporting projects.
  • An interest in environmental monitoring or IoT technology.

What we offer

  • Hands-on experience with real client projects.
  • Opportunities to develop skills across data analysis, software, sales and project delivery.
  • Support and guidance from experienced colleagues.
  • A varied role with real responsibility and opportunities to grow within the business.
