Head of Recruitment
HEAD OF RECRUITMENT
ABOUT JIGSAW FINANCE
Jigsaw Finance is a UK-based vehicle finance broker. We work with a substantial panel of motor finance lenders to serve customers across all credit profiles, from those with excellent credit ratings through to customers with adverse history who have previously had difficulty obtaining finance.
We were recently named in the Sunday Times 100 list of the UK’s fastest-growing businesses. Our headcount has grown to more than 100, and we expect to add around 100 more over the next three years.
To support this growth, we are creating a new Head of Recruitment role, reporting directly to the Managing Director. We are looking for an ambitious, driven recruiter with an exceptional network, who can find, attract and secure the best people in motor finance.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a rare chance to build a recruitment function from the ground up in one of the UK’s fastest-growing businesses. We want strong in-house capability and no reliance on recruitment agencies.
You will have the full backing of the MD to find and secure the best talent, and to invest in the right recruitment technology to do it. We want someone with a strong understanding of modern recruitment technology, including sourcing platforms, automation and AI tools, who can use it to make our hiring faster, smarter and more efficient.
Your main focus will be on commercial roles, including
- Account managers
- Internal sales roles
- Field-based sales roles
You will also support hiring across the wider business, including operations, compliance, technical and management positions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Headhunt and approach top talent directly, especially experienced account managers and sales people already working in motor finance
- Build and maintain a strong network across the motor finance sector, including lenders, brokers, dealer groups and industry events
- Build talent pipelines so we have strong candidates ready before roles open
- Choose and use the best recruitment technology, including sourcing tools, automation and AI, so that hiring is efficient and scalable
- Build and promote the Jigsaw Finance employer brand across LinkedIn, social media and industry networks, using our Sunday Times 100 recognition and growth story
- Own the end-to-end recruitment process, from workforce planning with the MD and department heads through to offer
- Deliver our growth plan of around 100 new hires over the next three years, without relying on recruitment agencies
- Run interviews and assessments, and help hiring managers make strong hiring decisions
- Coordinate on-boarding for new starters, including contracts, pre-employment checks and first-day arrangements
- Make sure hiring meets our regulatory obligations, including right-to-work, referencing and FCA fit-and-proper requirements where relevant
- Track and report to the MD on recruitment metrics such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire and source effectiveness
LOCATION & WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
This is a hybrid role, ideally suited to someone based in the North West. You will need to travel to meet candidates and visit our Leeds, Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent offices as and when required, for interviews, stakeholder meetings and other business needs.
Candidates aren’t always available during office hours, so you will need to be flexible and willing to speak with them in the evenings or at other times that suit them. Flexibility works both ways: we’re not rigid about working hours, as long as the job gets done well. You should also be willing to attend industry events and networking opportunities.
A full UK driving licence is required.
