About the Role
As an EHS Coordinator, you will work closely with the EHS Manager to provide effective health, safety, and environmental support across the Coventry site. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with legal requirements, promoting a positive safety culture, and supporting the Plant and Technical Centre in achieving its business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Deputise for the EHS Manager and provide guidance to managers, supervisors, and team leaders on health, safety, and environmental matters.
- Promote a positive safety culture and support achievement of site HSE targets, including the goal of zero lost time accidents.
- Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed on time.
- Develop, maintain, and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work across the site.
- Coordinate safety inspections, audits, and daily workplace walkthroughs to identify hazards and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 requirements and support ISO 45001 certification activities, including internal audits.
- Deliver health, safety, and environmental training and actively engage employees in safety walks, risk assessments, and improvement initiatives.
- Manage contractor and visitor safety processes, including permit-to-work compliance, contractor documentation reviews, and machinery safety requirements.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate, Health and Safety qualification, or equivalent professional certification.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
Required Skills
- Experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing, logistics, or transport environment.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, accident investigations, audits, and compliance activities within a regulated environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and training delivery skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across all levels of the business.
