If you take pride in delivering high-quality work, enjoy solving problems, and are passionate about maintaining specialist fleet equipment, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll Be DoingReporting to the Workshop Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining and supporting the NRP fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational across the UK road network.
While primarily workshop-based, there will be occasions where you'll attend breakdowns and provide support on-site.Key responsibilities will include:Carrying out planned servicing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and company proceduresDiagnosing faults and undertaking reactive maintenance to minimise vehicle downtimeRecording all maintenance activities, labour hours, and parts used through company systemsRaising requirements for parts and stock replenishment while supporting effective inventory managementCompleting job documentation accurately for both planned and unplanned maintenance activitiesSupporting preventative maintenance programmes and identifying opportunities to improve fleet reliabilityMaintaining excellent housekeeping standards and ensuring work areas remain clean, safe, and compliant with 5S principlesProviding breakdown support when required, including participation in out-of-hours call-out activities depending on experienceWhat We Are Looking ForWe're seeking a proactive and dependable individual with a strong mechanical background and a passion for delivering high standards of workmanship.You'll bring:Proven experience working as an HGV Fitter, Maintenance Technician, Plant Fitter, or within a similar maintenance environmentStrong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamGood understanding of operational mobile plant and vehicle maintenance practicesA full UK manual driving licence with no more than six penalty pointsA commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementIt would also be advantageous if you have:An LGV (HGV) licencePrevious plant fitting experienceWhy TarmacWe don't just offer a job, we offer a career.Alongside this role, you'll have access to industry-leading rewards, development opportunities, and a culture that puts people first, including:Bonus schemeEnhanced holiday entitlementContributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to our Employee Communities, where you can network, learn from others, and increase your awareness of the support available to you.
