HR Advisor

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR team on a permanent basis.

This is a varied and fast paced role where you will provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers across the business, supporting them with a wide range of employee relations and people matters. Working closely with the Head of HR, you will manage your own caseload, build strong relationships with our Regional and Care Home teams and work as part of the HR team to ensure our managers receive consistent, timely and commercially focused HR support.

We are looking for someone who enjoys a busy employee relations environment, is confident advising and coaching managers and can take ownership of cases from start to finish.

Some of the HR work can be done remotely, therefore our HR Advisor would be home based however there is a requirement to travel out to our Homes as and when needed, and given the HR team and location of our Homes, we are ideally looking for someone who lives in the Greater Manchester/Cheshire areas.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide professional and practical HR advice and guidance to managers across the business.
• Manage a varied employee relations caseload including absence, grievance, disciplinary, capability, performance and introductory review matters.
• Support and coach managers through formal HR processes, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
• Be the main point of contact for sickness absence and medical capability cases, including Occupational Health referrals and workplace adjustments.
• Prepare clear and professional HR correspondence and documentation.
• Provide advice and support on flexible working and other staffing related matters.
• Build strong working relationships with managers and key stakeholders across our homes and regional teams.
• Support the wider HR team with HR projects, policy development and organisational change as required.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

Skills and Experience required

• Previous experience working as a HR Advisor or similar HR role.
• Strong employee relations experience with the confidence to manage your own caseload.
• Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience supporting managers with absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance matters.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to advise, coach and appropriately challenge managers.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage several priorities.
• The ability to use your own initiative.
• Level 5 CIPD qualification.
• Experience of HR within a health and social care environment would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and the ability to travel to our care homes as required.
