Salary Range: £37,694 - £46,049
FTE: 35 hours/week
Contract Type: Open Contract
Closing Date: 01 December 2026

The Department of Architecture at the University of Strathclyde aims to be a leading provider of education and research in Architecture and the Built Environment. The department’s REF 2021 submission was rated 100% ‘outstanding’ for impact and was the only submission in the UK to achieve this. The need to address the challenges of climate change and energy justice through innovation in design and socially responsive architecture is core to the department’s research agenda, with the drive towards healthy buildings and equitable neighbourhoods and communities embedded in all teaching, learning and research activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career and help shape the future of architectural education and research within a supportive and forward-looking department. We seek to appoint an early career Lecturer to join the academic team, and will contribute design, development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate and PGR teaching.

The role will also contribute to and deliver new scientific research aligned with the department’s strategic priorities. With recent project successes and growth in research funding, the role will help to build on our excellent track record in environmental architecture, social computation and urban design and analytics.

This post complements our existing academic team and will support emerging strategic areas of health and architecture, social computational methods, urban analytics and regenerative design.

Informal enquiries about the post can be directed to Calum Fischer-Keogh, Operations Manager (calum.fischer keogh@strath.ac.uk).
