About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Legal Subject Matter Expert (Legal SME) to support our delivery and solution teams on legal-services engagements. The SME will provide legal expertise, advisory support and subject-matter guidance during client discussions and solution development.
The current requirement is to support two active projects, with the potential for additional engagements as we expand our legal-services client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal subject-matter expertise and advisory support to delivery and solution teams.
- Support teams in understanding and interpreting legal requirements relevant to client engagements.
- Participate in client discussions and stakeholder meetings where legal expertise is required.
- Provide guidance during solution development and solutioning discussions.
- Review proposed approaches from a legal perspective and provide relevant recommendations.
- Help delivery teams translate legal requirements into practical and appropriate solutions.
- Act as a legal advisor when specific legal questions, requirements or challenges arise.
- Participate in discussions with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and expectations.
- Support the team on an as-needed basis, depending on project requirements and engagement stage.
- Provide additional guidance as projects become more detailed or require deeper legal involvement.
Engagement Model
This is initially envisioned as a part-time, need-based engagement rather than a fixed daily commitment.

The expected involvement may vary depending on project requirements. The SME may be engaged for several hours per week, including sessions of approximately 3–4 hours on certain days, rather than being required every day. The engagement may increase if project requirements become more extensive.
Required Experience
- Strong professional experience in the legal domain.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a Legal Subject Matter Expert / Legal Advisor.
- Strong understanding of legal requirements and the ability to translate them into practical guidance.
- Experience participating in client-facing discussions and advising stakeholders.
- Ability to work with technology/delivery teams and contribute to solution discussions.
- Strong communication, advisory and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide expert guidance with limited supervision.
