Management Accountant

Licensed sponsor London Full-time Posted 3 hours ago

Malaberg is a UK-based brand house building and scaling direct-to-consumer beauty and wellness brands. We manage every stage of the product lifecycle, from product development and manufacturing to customer service and digital performance. Our portfolio includes fast-growing brands across the UK and US.

We are looking for a curious, analytical and proactive Management Accountant to join our Finance team in London. This is a hands-on role working across multiple brands and business units, with exposure to manufacturing, call centre operations and e-commerce in a fast paced, growing business.

We want someone who takes ownership, thinks critically and looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
  •  Support consolidated group reporting across multiple entities.
  •  Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, journals and balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances.
  •  Support stock and payroll reporting, ensuring financial records are accurate and complete.
  •  Investigate variances, identify trends and understand the key drivers of business performance.
  •  Prepare financial analysis and reports to support decision making by Finance leadership.
  •  Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  •  Support audits, VAT returns, international expansion and other Finance projects as required.

Experience (Essential)

  •  2 to 4 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Part-qualified or actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
  •   Good understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes.
  •  Confident using Excel or Google Sheets and accounting software such as Xero, along with tools like Dext and ApprovalMax. Experience with API integrations between Xero and other systems is a plus.
  •   Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies.
  •   Able to manage competing deadlines and communicate effectively with colleagues across the business.

Preferred Experience

  •   Experience in direct-to-consumer, FMCG or manufacturing businesses.
  •   Exposure to inventory, cost accounting or multi-entity reporting.
  •   Experience working in a growing business where processes are still developing.

Personal Specification

  •  Curious and analytical, and enjoys working through problems and finding answers.
  •  Takes pride in their work, learns quickly and looks for ways to keep improving.
  •   Adaptable and energised by a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
  •   Professional and trustworthy with confidential information, and respectful to everyone they work with.
  •   Positive and solution-focused, and comfortable sharing ideas to improve how things are done.
  •   Confident working independently, with good judgement and an open approach to asking questions.
  •   Highly organised, with a strong eye for accuracy and a track record of meeting deadlines.
  •   A reliable team player who enjoys contributing to a close-knit Finance team.
