Licensed sponsor United Kingdom Posted 1 day ago

Join Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) as a Service Manager for our Homelessness Service, Nottingham and help shape services that change lives.

Are you passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness?

NCHA are looking for a Service Manager for one of our Homelessness Services within our Care and Support Division who can lead with compassion, create a sense of belonging, and bring our CLEAR values to life every day.

The service is called Gedling Grove and is made up of 30 units across Nottingham City that offer short‑term (up to 6 months) temporary accommodation for people who need a safe place to stabilise, rebuild and move on.

Our customers often find themselves with us following some significant life challenges so our job is not just to house them but to support their mental health and get them back to a place they can grow from.

About The job

As Manager, you’ll head up a team of people who manage the day‑to‑day delivery and development of this service. You will:

  • Ensure an excellent customer experience
  • Develop a strong multi‑agency ‘hub’ working with Health visitors, social workers, probation service etc
  • Managing a team of 10+, you will lead and support, including supervisions, development and performance management
  • Respond to, investigate and escalate safeguarding concerns.
  • Monitor KPIs and monthly performance data, addressing areas for improvement with Nottingham City Council.
  • Keep up to date with legislation, local procedures and best practice.
  • Represent the service at operational, strategic and multi‑agency meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the service through charitable grants.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive culture aligned to NCHA’s CLEAR values.

The Hours

This is a permanent full-time job working 37 hours per week.  While you will predominantly work office hours Monday to Friday you should expect to be able to offer some flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

As the different sites are across Nottingham City you will need to be prepared to travel around during your day so access to your own transport would be ideal and give you the flexibility required.

What you’ll bring

You’ll thrive in this role if you have

  • Substantial experience working in a social care or supported housing environment particularly with Mental Health needs and behaviours that can challenge.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of homelessness‑related issues and the needs of our client group.
  • Proven ability to work effectively at supervisory level and manage people’s performance and development.
  • A solid understanding of the needs of people from diverse social, cultural and racial backgrounds.
  • Experience supporting change within a team or service.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills.

Interviews will be held on 1st December at NCHA Head Office, Clifton, NG11

The interview will consist of a short presentation for which you will receive the brief on the day with time to prepare, and a panel interview.  For those selected for interview there will be opportunity to visit Gedling Grove.
