Planner - Transportation

Licensed sponsor Leeds Full-time Posted 1 day ago

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

You will help major infrastructure projects move from ambition to achievable delivery.

Your schedules will give project teams a clear view of what needs to happen, when it needs to happen and where delivery could be put at risk. By connecting design, engineering, procurement and construction activities, you will help teams make better decisions before delays become problems.

You will bring structure to complex programmes, challenge unclear assumptions and turn large volumes of project information into plans that people can understand and act on.

Your insight will support project leaders and clients to manage dependencies, understand the critical path, assess the effect of change and maintain confidence in delivery.

Whether you are already an experienced planner or have developed strong scheduling skills through project management or engineering, your ability to understand how projects come together will make a visible difference.

About The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to influence how complex infrastructure projects are delivered, not simply report against a schedule. You will build and challenge integrated programmes, identify dependencies and emerging risks, and give project teams a clear understanding of what needs to happen next.

Working across design, engineering, procurement and construction, you will use Primavera P6, critical-path analysis and schedule forecasting to improve delivery confidence. Your insight will directly support project leaders and clients as they make decisions on priorities, change and programme performance.

Here's what you'll need

  • Practical experience of planning, scheduling or project delivery within infrastructure, engineering, construction or another relevant major-project environment
  • Leading end-to-end schedule development on high-profile infrastructure projects using Primavera P6
  • The ability to break complex activities into clear sequences, milestones and dependencies
  • The confidence to question assumptions and identify risks, gaps or inconsistencies within a programme
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain schedule information to people who are not planning specialists
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with project teams and stakeholders
