You will be working working with the planning team in the Infrastructure OU based in Watford (Leavesden) in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

We are currently looking for a Preconstruction Planning Manager who will develop and lead a pre-construction planning team to deliver successful, sustainable tender programme submissions

As the Preconstruction Planning Manager, you will

To lead the tender planning team in the delivery of sustainable tender programme. Be responsible for helping to achieve the required tender margins. To assist and present to customers as required.
Update pre-con planning standards to drive up standards and continuous improvement. All programmes to be challenged/peer reviewed prior to submission.
Ensure that all programmes are communicated clearly to all customers. This will include the coding of the programme using a common coding structure, the development of 4D programmes and developing reports.
Works collaboratively with all tender team to ensure that anything that may impact on time is taken into consideration in our programmes.
To develop tender programmes and submissions as required.
Work collaboratively with the wider planning team to drive continuous improvements. This includes the inclusion of best practice / innovation from projects.

We are looking for

Significant tender planning experience with a Tier 1 infrastructure contractor. Experience of various methods of planning and planning software.
Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
Technical knowledge of construction techniques, principles and best practices, probable developed through both formal education (degree / HNC/HNC in Civil Engineering / Construction) and practical experience.
Understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning/programming
Ability to plan strategically.
Presentation skills - able to command the confidence of the audience and to share written information clearly and concisely, highlighting the key issues and benefits of our solution. Present to various stakeholders, from the Client, Leadership Team to delivery team and subcontractors.
Understand the implications of the contract on the project and ensure that this is represent this in all tender programmes.
