Press Brake Operative
We are looking for an experienced Press Brake Operative to join our manufacturing team. You will be responsible for operating and setting press brake machinery to accurately bend and form sheet metal components in line with engineering drawings, specifications and production requirements. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a press brake within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Select and fit the correct tooling for each job.
- Set machine parameters to achieve accurate bends and dimensions.
- Accurately measure and inspect components using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Make adjustments to machine settings where required.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the production process.
- Identify and report any quality issues or machine faults.
- Meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Work effectively as part of the wider production team.
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a press brake.
- Experience setting press brake machinery.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- The ability to use measuring equipment accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
