We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Relief Production Operator to join our Production team at Barony. In this role, you will receive comprehensive training across key production areas, enabling you to provide operational support and cover within our Drying and Pressing departments.
Whether you already have experience in a manufacturing environment or have developed transferable skills in a similar operational setting, we are looking for individuals who are safety-focused, eager to learn, and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team.

What You'll Be Doing
- Complete a structured training programme to gain competency across the Drying and Pressing production areas.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and operational standards.
- Carry out routine inspections and checks on production machinery and critical services, reporting issues where required.
- Provide support and cover for key production roles during periods of absence, training, and holidays.
- Assist during plant maintenance shutdowns and operational improvement activities.
- Work closely with colleagues to maximise production efficiency, quality, and performance.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
- Complete shift reports and handovers to ensure effective communication across teams.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and equipment concerns promptly.
- Contribute positively to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
What We're Looking For
- Forklift Truck Licence, however training will be provided.
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, process, or operational environment.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A strong commitment to working safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn new skills and work across different operational areas.
- Able to work a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, working 12 hour shifts, days and nights.
- Experience within a continuous manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with automated production processes.
- Experience of completing operational inspections and production reporting.
