Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent Join our dynamic and vibrant Registration Services Team to provide a professional and customer focused approach to a frontline service meeting the needs of our customers at life's key moments. You will join a team of 24, in a very busy office, constantly striving to keep up with demand for its services while keeping up to date with legislative changes. We have full time positions available. We are committed to providing customers a service from 8.30am every weekday, and you will need to work on a rota basis to cover service needs on weekends and bank holidays. You'll be based at our registration office which is in Town Hall. Town Hall is one of the oldest buildings within Leicester City, and it is full of character. On occasion, you may be required to travel within the city to attend other venues, to conduct statutory ceremonies. This role does not offer hybrid working, the role is full time at Town Hall. What you'll be doing Not one day will be the same in this varied role. Your duties will range from registering births, deaths and still-births to conducting and registering marriages and civil partnerships. In addition, you'll answer any complex queries from the public via email and by phone. All ceremonies conducted must be performed in accordance with quality statutory and corporate requirements. What you'll need You will need to be able to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changes to duties at very short notice and have excellent attention to detail and accuracy. With your excellent organisational skills, you'll provide information and reports within strict deadlines and keep to appointment schedules. You will also use your strong IT skills to carry out general administrative tasks, take payments but also have legible handwriting to produce legal documents such as marriage, birth, or death certificates. With proficient interpersonal skills, communicating with people from all backgrounds will be second nature, whilst maintaining customer privacy, including confidentiality and protection of sensitive data. In addition, you will possess the skills and ability to train staff to deliver a high standard of customer service, including the ability to deal with contentious and challenging situations. Part of your role will include retrieving archives, and for this you will have the ability to climb steps and/or ladders. Due to the nature of this role, you'll be subject to a basic DBS check.
