Senior Civil Engineering Technician
Are you experienced Civil Engineering Technician seeking your next role? If so, could this role be the opportunity you are searching for? Based in our Manchester office, you will lead the production of civil engineering drawings relating to our projects.
We are a dynamic team, working on a broad range of projects across multiple sectors. Our projects have complex and extensive civils involvement covering drainage, earthworks and highway design and you will be working on a range of interesting projects including schools, residential developments, later living, advanced manufacturing, public realm and many others. Our projects are a blend of multi-disciplinary and stand alone civil and structural services. This offers an excellent opportunity to develop strong working relationships internally and to broaden your network across the industry.
Our projects often involve technically challenging sites, delivered as part of a wider phasing strategy. The civils design is therefore an integral part of our high service offering and we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated person to complement our team.
This is a key role within the civils team, leading on the modelling and drawing production which translates design into construction. You will be working alongside our engineers in the development and production of information, with an opportunity for external engagement and project leadership.
A high level of modelling competence is essential, preferably Civils 3D, alongside being fully conversant with 2d and 3d CAD. Exemplar presentation and attention to detail is essential.

What you need to do to be effective in this role
- Develop drainage and highways CAD designs and drawings in 2D & 3D
- Produce levels engineering drawings and cut and fill analysis
- Support civil engineering staff with design
- Ensure that Ridge document management and QA procedures are complied with
- Wider engagement with the project teams both internal and external
The skills and experience you need to have for this role
- Be fully conversant in AutoCAD with civil engineering related experience
- Highly level of skill and competence in Civil 3D, and Infodrainage would be a distinct advantage
- Past experience of Highway, Drainage and Earthworks projects is essential
- Knowledge of the DMRB and Manual for Streets
- A relevant engineering qualification (e.g HNC) or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years industry experience.
