Senior Commercial and Procurement Business Partner

Licensed sponsor London Contract Posted 8 hours ago

Location: Lynton House

Full time – Permanent

This is your opportunity to help build the future of commercial and procurement practice at Redbridge.

Redbridge is in the midst of an ambitious commercial and procurement transformation. We are moving beyond a traditional, transactional model to create a modern, strategic and influential function that shapes decisions earlier, connects commercial insight to organisational priorities and makes every pound work harder for residents.

We are looking for an exceptional senior professional to take a pivotal leadership role in that journey. Reporting to the Director of Commercial and Procurement, you will turn a bold vision into everyday practice, lead our new business partnering approach and bring commercial thinking to decisions across the Council.

This is far more than a senior procurement post. It is a rare opportunity to design and embed a new way of working, develop an ambitious team and influence high-value, high-risk and business-critical decisions from the outset.

What you will do

  • Lead a credible, proactive commercial business partnering service across the Council.
  • Influence major procurement, contract, supplier and service decisions before commitments are made.
  • Turn spend, contract, pipeline and market insight into savings, stronger assurance and better value.
  • Shape category, sourcing, market engagement and contract management approaches.
  • Build commercial capability and a culture of constructive challenge across Redbridge.
  • Deputise for the Director and represent the function confidently at senior forums.

What you will bring

You will be an ambitious and credible commercial leader who is excited by transformation and motivated by the opportunity to build something new. You will bring substantial senior-level procurement, commercial or contract management experience and strong public sector knowledge. You will combine strategic thinking with delivery focus and bring people with you through change.

To apply for this post please complete the online application form and attach your CV and a Covering Letter addressing how you meet the criteria for the role as stated in the person specification.

All short-listed applicants will need to demonstrate proof of right to work in the UK.

We are committed to employment practices that promote diversity and inclusion in employment and welcome applications from qualified applicants regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sex, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, colour, race, religion, or belief.
