Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to support delivery of our Pricing & Exposure data initiatives. This role will focus on hands-on analysis of complex insurance datasets, translating business and analytical needs into clear data requirements, and producing the mapping, profiling and quality evidence needed to build trusted, scalable data products.

Working closely with pricing, underwriting, exposure management, data engineering and technology teams, you will help bring structure to ambiguous data problems, validate source-to-target decisions, and ensure that data products are grounded in real reporting, analytical and operational use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Substantial experience in a senior data analyst, data-focused business analyst or comparable role.
  • Profile pricing, delegated authority and exposure data sources to understand structure, completeness, quality, lineage and suitability for reporting and analytics.
  • Analyse conceptual, logical and physical data models against agreed business, reporting and analytical use cases, including data grain, relationships, definitions and business rules.
  • Own detailed source-to-target mapping, documenting source fields, target fields, transformations, derivations, reference data, assumptions and traceability to requirements.
  • Produce and maintain mapping artefacts, data dictionaries, business glossaries and lineage documentation for use by engineering, testing and business teams.
  • Define and run data quality checks, reconcile source and target datasets, investigate material differences and document issues for resolution.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies and design risks through data analysis, and use findings to inform delivery priorities, data design and remediation activity.
  • Support workshops and working sessions alongside existing Business Analysts to capture requirements, validate findings, resolve data questions and align decisions across business and technology teams.
  • Translate complex data detail into clear requirements, recommendations and delivery artefacts for technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills Required

  • Substantial experience in a senior data analyst, data-focused business analyst or comparable role.
  • Advanced SQL skills and a strong track record of analysing large, complex datasets.
  • Hands-on experience of source-to-target mapping, data profiling, lineage analysis and reconciliation.
  • Strong understanding of relational data modelling, data grain, keys, relationships and business rules.
  • Experience producing high-quality requirements, mapping specifications, data dictionaries and analytical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, structure ambiguous data questions and turn analysis into clear findings and recommendations.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, data engineering and technology teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Insurance, reinsurance or financial services experience.
  • Knowledge of pricing, underwriting, delegated authority, bordereaux, and exposure data.
  • Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, warehouses and Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience working within Agile or multidisciplinary delivery teams.

What is in it for you

  • Be part of the fastest-growing AI-first digital transformation and engineering company in the world
  • Be a part of an energetic team of highly dynamic and talented individuals
  • Exposure to working with fortune 500 companies and innovative market disruptors
  • Exposure to the latest technologies related to artificial intelligence and machine learning, data and cloud
