This is a key leadership role within the Technical team, responsible for driving food safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across the factory. You'll work closely with Operations and Site Leadership teams to ensure the highest standards are consistently achieved, while developing a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the business.

Lead Food Safety & Quality Excellence
Pilgrim's Europe is seeking an experienced Senior Food Safety & Quality Manager to join our Craigavon site.
This is a key leadership role within the Technical team, responsible for driving food safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across the factory. You'll work closely with Operations and Site Leadership teams to ensure the highest standards are consistently achieved, while developing a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain HACCP-based Food Safety & Quality Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with BRC, customer, legal, and company standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in food safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental standards.
- Lead customer, retailer, and third-party audits, ensuring excellent audit outcomes.
- Manage technical teams, including recruitment, development, succession planning, and performance management.
- Investigate complaints, incidents, non-conformances, and root causes, implementing effective corrective actions.
- Analyse quality, microbiological, allergen, and technical performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with Operations to reduce complaints, improve KPIs, and enhance site standards.
- Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.
- Degree-qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven quality management experience within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, Food Safety, Food Hygiene, and Food Legislation.
- Experience managing customer audits and retailer standards.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Chilled food or high-risk manufacturing experience.
- Experience with major UK retailers.
- Advanced HACCP qualification.
- Poultry processing or cooked protein experience.
