Role Summary
Backend-focused developer to build Oracle database objects, optimise query performance, and automate batch processing and data integration using Unix scripting. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Development: Design and develop stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers and views for complex business logic.
- Automation & Scripting: Build, maintain and debug Unix/Linux shell wrapper scripts for PL/SQL programs and scheduled batch jobs.
- Performance Tuning: Optimise SQL and PL/SQL using EXPLAIN PLAN, TKPROF, hints and indexing strategies.
- ETL & Data Integration: Build data pipelines using SQL*Loader, external tables or native PL/SQL to migrate data from legacy and external sources.
- Data Modelling: Contribute to relational design, table partitioning and data modelling for integrity and scalability.
- Production Support: Diagnose and resolve failing batch jobs and performance bottlenecks promptly.
- Collaboration: Work with System Analysts, QA and System Administrators to migrate code across environments and support testing.
