Senior Pharmacy Technician
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to work within the Angus Integrated Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service (AIDARS).
We are seeking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Substance Use Pharmacy team.
We are keen to hear from Pharmacy Technicians who
- Have experience and a genuine interest in working with people who use substances, their families and carers to achieve maximum benefit while minimising risks from their medicines, with a focus on holistic person-centred care.
- Have an interest in working within expanding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the best possible outcomes for individuals.
- Want to promote joint working between services while challenging stigma towards those using substances trying to access healthcare.
- Are interested in playing a role in developing new service models of pharmaceutical care delivery, while scrutinising existing service models and processes to ensure they are safe and meet the needs of the local population.
As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team the post-holder will be involved in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person-centred care for individuals within AIDARS to ensure that they have the maximum benefit and minimal risk from their prescribed medication. The post holder will work autonomously alongside a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist with support from the wider Tayside Mental Health and Substance Use Pharmacy Team.
AIDARS are an integrated health and social care team based in the community that provides recovery-oriented care to people across Angus. The service works closely with partners including Community Pharmacy, GP practices, 3rd Sector agencies and Independent Advocacy Services.
The role requires you to be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and to either hold a recognised accuracy checking qualification or be willing to work towards this.
There may be a requirement to contribute to the weekend and public holiday rotas as per service requirement.
