We’re looking for an experienced Material, Welding & NDT Specialist to join the SURF team of a major ultra-deepwater oil development for a leading international operator.

🛢️ About the project

• Greenfield development in ~3,000 m water depth, Atlantic
• FPSO designed for 160,000 bbl/d, with a large subsea tie-back architecture
• SURF scope: Steel Lazy Wave Risers, rigid flowlines and spools in CS and CRA lined pipe (WOL/MLP/HRB), Duplex rigid jumpers
• International, multicultural environment, with frequent missions aboard

🎯 Your mission

Be the technical referent for material selection, corrosion, welding and NDE/NDT on the SURF package, from engineering to fabrication and installation, working closely with the SURF Technical Manager.

🔧 Key responsibilities

• Review and approve WPS, WPQR, procedures, studies and derogation requests from Contractors and Suppliers
• Flag unsafe design, deviations and constructability issues early
• Support testing and qualification (PQT, PPT, FAT, EFAT, SIT) and fabrication follow-up at yards and workshops
• Assist on-site: welding witnessing, welder qualification, NDE techniques and operators, consumables
• Approve special processes (heat treatment, induction bending, pickling, passivating)
• Align with HQ specialists and capture lessons learnt

👤 Your profile

• 🔹 Master’s degree in engineering, Material Sciences, ESSA or IWE
• 🔹 10+ years on large offshore SURF deepwater projects
• 🔹 NDT: AUT, Phased Array, TOFD, IWEX
• 🔹 Good knowledge of DNV codes
• 🔹 Experience with major SURF Contractors during execution
• 🔹 BOSIET
• 🔹 Fluent English, proactive and pragmatic, comfortable in multicultural teams
