Talent Acquisition Manager

Location: Pity Me, Durham

Permanent – 37hrs per week

Salary – from £50,000

About The Role

Are you passionate about finding brilliant people, creating inclusive hiring experiences and shaping how an organisation attracts the talent it needs for the future? At Northumbrian Water Group, we’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager who can bring energy, insight and innovation to the way we recruit, select and welcome people into our business.

This is a brilliant opportunity to lead a high-performing Talent Acquisition team and play a key role in helping us deliver the diverse, skilled and future-focused workforce we need. You’ll be at the heart of our People directorate, working closely with leaders, managers, People Business Partners and external partners to make sure recruitment is professional, inclusive, data-led and candidate-centred.

You’ll lead the design and delivery of recruitment approaches that help NWG attract, assess and appoint great people. From developing inclusive selection tools and assessment materials, to strengthening our employer brand and improving our digital recruitment experience, you’ll make sure our hiring activity is effective, fair and aligned to business priorities.

  • Lead and develop the Talent Acquisition team, creating a supportive, performance-focused environment.
  • Shape recruitment and selection processes that are inclusive, accessible and legally compliant.
  • Use data, insight and market intelligence to plan resourcing activity and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Partner with leaders and managers to understand current and future workforce needs.
  • Develop attraction strategies that support diversity, inclusion and our TIDE ambitions.
  • Strengthen our employer brand and help position NWG as an employer of choice.
  • Build strong external networks, including relationships with careers providers, colleges, recruitment partners and Armed Forces communities.
  • Own and improve recruitment systems, guidance, training content and candidate experience measures.

About You

You’ll be an experienced recruitment or talent acquisition professional who knows how to balance pace, quality and candidate experience. You’ll be confident working with stakeholders at all levels, able to influence decisions and comfortable using data to tell a story, challenge thinking and improve results.

You’ll bring strong knowledge of end-to-end recruitment, experience using digital tools and applicant tracking systems, and a genuine commitment to fair, inclusive and accessible hiring. Just as importantly, you’ll care about people — the candidates who apply, the managers you support and the team you lead.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in internal, agency or 360 recruitment.
  • Experience leading, coaching or developing recruitment colleagues.
  • Confidence partnering with hiring managers, senior leaders and People colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive attraction and selection practices.
  • Experience using recruitment systems, LinkedIn Recruiter and data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, present insight and influence stakeholders.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with curiosity about new tools, trends and better ways of working.
  • Experience of Oracle ORC would be great, but if not then knowledge of supporting the continued improvement of an ATS

Ready to help us find the people who’ll shape our future?

If you’re excited by the opportunity to lead recruitment that is inclusive, insight-led and genuinely people-centred, we’d love to hear from you.
