Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent Would you like to improve the transport system within Leicester? The Traffic Regulation Order Team develops and delivers strategies, policies, projects, and programmes to improve Leicester's transport network and environment. Our portfolio covers various aspects of transport network in the city, such as introduction of residential parking schemes, delivery of advisory disabled bays for residents and implementation of Static and Moving Traffic Regulation Orders. Join us as a Transport Development Officer in our team of specialist officers to ensure parking restrictions around the city provide more efficient and safer parking environment for all users. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. You will have the flexibility to work from our main base at City Hall or from home depending on experience and team requirements. This is a career graded post (LG Band 07 – LG Band 09). Appointment to a level will depend on the outcome of the selection process and experience of the successful candidate. What you will be doing You will help to devise, design, plan and deliver Static and Moving Traffic Regulation Orders such as single yellow line and double yellow line parking restrictions, introduction of one-way systems and residents parking schemes around the city. This will involve conducting assessments of sites, analysing key data such as accident statistics, undertaking research on factors such as traffic flow, parking capacity, locations of parking bays and junction protection requirements. Using specialist software such as ParkMap and AutoCAD, you will design the proposals including signs and lining, undertake the TRO process, and oversee implementation. Once approved, you will work to produce a detailed plans for the residents parking schemes and other parking restriction TROs with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for the management of schemes including conducting public consultations, press releases and correspondence with elected members. What you will need: With strong project management skills, you will be able to write reports, work to tight deadlines, and work as individual and as part of a team to meet project objectives. You will have experience in using IT applications, to produce letters, spreadsheets, reports, and presentations as well as be proficient in highway design packages such as AutoCAD. Using excellent communication, numerical and organization skills you will be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver projects with set deadlines and budgets.
