Visual Content Manager

Licensed sponsor London Full-time Posted 1 hour ago

Small businesses are at the heart of what we do at Zempler Bank. We want to tell their stories, and our own, in a way that feels real, original and human. This role exists to do exactly that: finding the stories worth telling, producing them yourself, and making sure they reach the right people across our website, social, digital, partner and event channels.

The opportunity

You’ll research, shoot, edit and publish visual stories about the small businesses we serve, our customers, our people and our research. Your first sector focus will be hospitality, followed by retail and construction.

This is a hands-on production role with a strong distribution element. You won’t just make a film. You’ll turn one strong story into a set of assets built for every channel where it needs to work. You’ll work within the creative direction set by our Head of Creative and the content strategy set by our Marketing Communications team, so you’ll have clear guidance on themes and storylines. Your craft and judgement will shape how those stories come to life.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building and delivering a visual content plan with clear timelines and measurable objectives, and keeping stakeholders on board as it develops.
  • Taking stories from first idea to finished piece. This includes research, securing access and consent, planning, filming, editing and captioning. Formats include mini-documentaries, interview series and photo-led features that show what running a small business is really like.
  • Turning each production into a family of assets, including longer edits, short social cuts, stills, quotes and platform-specific versions. All of these should be designed to be accessible, including captions and versions that work without sound.
  • Bringing our research, customer insight and company story to life, from the people and decisions behind Zempler to the findings of our sector studies.
  • Shaping how our stories appear on our website, working to suggest and lead improvements. You’ll also work with our content, social and partnerships teams on distribution and on testing new social and community channels.
  • Covering trade shows, founder summits, partner events and customer activity, and producing timely content to agreed quality and compliance standards. When a project needs more scale or specialist skills, you’ll brief our internal design team or external production partners alongside the Head of Creative.

What we’re looking for

  • A portfolio of human-centred visual storytelling that shows real editorial judgement, rather than conventional corporate content.
  • Professional experience in social content, journalism, documentary, video, photography, multimedia production or a similar field. This should include carrying stories yourself from research through to delivery.
  • Confidence with camera, sound, lighting and editing tools. You should also be able to judge when a phone is enough and when a production needs specialist support.
  • Experience adapting one story into channel-specific formats, and an understanding of how content performance and channel testing help audiences grow.
  • An understanding of how website design and presentation can showcase content and encourage people to engage.
  • The ability to build trust quickly with small business owners, colleagues and contributors, including in busy working environments. This includes strong interviewing, planning and writing skills, and being comfortable working within brand, legal, compliance and consent approval processes.

Useful, but not essential

  • Experience creating content for financial services, technology, hospitality, retail, construction or small business audiences.
  • Experience turning research, customer insight or data into visual stories.
  • Experience briefing and working with agencies, freelancers or production partners.
  • Practical use of AI tools to make your workflow more efficient, while keeping the creative and editorial work original and human-made.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility good practice for video and social content.

What you can expect

This role has real breadth. In any given week you may be planning a production, filming at a customer’s business, editing social cuts and working on how a story sits on our website. You’ll balance planned productions with quicker-turnaround opportunities, such as events. As a bank, we work in a regulated environment, so content goes through brand, legal and compliance review. Planning for this from the start is part of the job. Creative direction and the agency relationships are owned by the Head of Creative, and you’ll work closely with them and the Strategy and Communications Director.

We know that people can sometimes decide not to apply unless they meet every requirement. If this role interests you and you believe your experience or transferable skills could help you succeed, we’d encourage you to apply.
