As our new Warehouse Section Manager, you’ll lead team members across our distribution centre and champion a safe, productive and customer-focused operation that delivers an exceptional experience for our customers.

Working closely with the warehouse management and DC leadership teams, you’ll support day-to-day operational delivery, coach team members and help create a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement. If you’re a positive and engaging people leader who enjoys helping teams perform at their best, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be part of the journey Cromwell is on with our ambitious growth plans and have the opportunity to make a real difference to our success story.

Some of your key responsibilities

  • Drive a culture of safety by role-modelling safe behaviours, ensuring team members understand their responsibilities and identifying and reporting risks and opportunities to improve safe working practices.
  • Lead team members to meet or exceed our service promise to customers, while delivering expected standards of productivity and quality and maintaining compliance with quality, legal and ethical requirements.
  • Coach and mentor team members on performance, safety and quality, ensuring compliance with SOPs and standard work and actively participating in standard work team member audits.
  • Ensure daily duties within your area are completed safely, accurately and on time, using your knowledge of warehouse processes to resolve common operational issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Work closely with the warehouse management team to cover daily operational tasks and service levels, while supporting DC leadership with goal setting, resource planning, people leadership and regular team briefings.
  • Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and company asset care, report progress against objectives and project work, and support improvements in operational performance.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Strong attention to detail and a curious mindset that drives results and positive action in a customer-obsessed environment.
  • Experience or capability in leadership, coaching, directing work, performance management, staffing, planning and delegation, with the motivation to lead others effectively.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A consistent track record of high personal performance, with a positive approach to tasks and people, effective time management and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Personal drive, independence and ownership of tasks and workload, with the resilience to deliver against commitments in a busy operational environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading would be desirable, alongside a willingness to learn and develop your warehouse leadership capability.

What’s in it for me?

  • A competitive salary alongside inclusion into our company bonus scheme. Our Cromwell Incentive Plan reinforces our key principle of winning as one team and sharing in our success.
  • Enhanced employer pension contribution.
  • Our Private Medical Insurance offers eligible team members the ability to access a broad range of treatments quickly when they need it the most.
  • 22 days annual leave entitlement plus Bank Holidays – Whilst this is common amongst businesses, we also offer the opportunity to purchase an additional annual leave in case you need a couple of extra days.
  • Welcoming a new addition to the family is a precious time and one that we want our team members to enjoy. We support our team members by offering enhanced Maternity & Paternity pay so that you can plan for your time off with your family.
  • It’s important to us that we look after the health and wellbeing of our team members and our Healthcare Cash Plan does just that! Your cash plan is funded by Cromwell and provided by our trusted partner who are one of the oldest and largest healthcare cash plan providers in the UK
  • As part of our Great Place to Work initiatives, we are pleased that our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is available to all Cromwell team members. We recognise that it’s not always easy to balance your work, personal and family life, and that’s where the EAP can help you better manage any issues you may be experiencing.
