What’s unique about this role?

This is a 12-month maternity cover opportunity, offering the chance to support a high-performing Client Services pod within a fast-paced, client-focused eDiscovery environment. The role provides valuable exposure to strategic client relationships, team leadership, and operational oversight across a global organization. While the position is initially fixed term, there may be opportunities for extension or consideration for future permanent roles, subject to business needs and organizational growth.

The Associate Director of Client Services performs a pivotal role at the heart of the Client Services team and reports to the Director of Client Services. The Associate Director oversees Project Management teams and is responsible for the effective delivery of client engagements across multiple client pods. The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure eDiscovery matters are managed to the high standards expected by both our clients and Lighthouse. The Associate Director serves as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on eDiscovery best practices and recommending efficient, cost-effective solutions that leverage Lighthouse technologies and expertise. The role also provides leadership and oversight of project execution, resource planning, and stakeholder communications.

The team is focused on delivering an exceptional client experience through outstanding responsiveness, a consultative service approach, and the effective adoption of Lighthouse technologies, workflows, and best practices.

The Associate Director is responsible for supporting, coaching, and developing team members while maintaining an active involvement in key client matters. They will provide strategic guidance, operational leadership, and subject matter expertise to both clients and internal teams as required.

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience within the eDiscovery, litigation support, legal technology, or information governance industry, together with a strong understanding of client service delivery, project management, and business operations. They will have a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex client relationships, and successfully navigate competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

As this role provides maternity cover for a senior team member, the successful candidate will be comfortable stepping into an established team and maintaining continuity for both clients and colleagues. They will quickly build trusted relationships, sustain operational excellence, and provide confident leadership throughout the cover period. Combining commercial awareness, strong people leadership, and industry expertise, they will be well positioned to make an immediate contribution while supporting the ongoing success of the business.

What will this person do?

The Associate Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of client engagements, ensuring the successful delivery of eDiscovery services through effective project governance, operational management, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication. The role is responsible for driving client success, developing high-performing teams, managing complex workflows and escalations, contributing to business strategy, and championing continuous improvement, technology innovation, and best practices across the organization.

People Management

  • Manage, mentor, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of eDiscovery professionals.
  • Manage team performance, engagement, and professional development within the assigned pod.
  • Assist with resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure effective utilization and delivery excellence.
  • Serve as an escalation point for client, project, and operational matters.
  • Collaborate closely with team members across global Lighthouse teams to ensure consistency, alignment, and delivery of standardized solutions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Client Experience

  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships through consultative engagement and exceptional service delivery.
  • Ensure consistency in communication standards, project governance, and client experience across all engagements.
  • Partner with Client Success and Business Development teams to strengthen and expand client relationships both in EMEA and US.
  • Communicate project scope, expectations, timelines, risks, and deliverables clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.

Execution

  • Drive team excellence in technology adoption specifically with identifying the use of advanced analytics and AI, with traditional workflows to ensure thorough execution, process management, and issue resolution.
  • Provide strategic oversight and support across active client matters, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
  • Support project teams throughout the engagement lifecycle

  • Degree in a related discipline (law, computer science or digital forensics) or commensurate experience in eDiscovery.
  • At least 6 years eDiscovery project management experience in either a law Firm, consultancy, or eDiscovery services provider
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience leading an eDiscovery team working on large scale global eDiscovery matter(s)
  • Experience of eDiscovery commercial management including drafting of cost estimates, budget management and margin modelling
  • Relativity accreditation (ideally RCA or higher), working knowledge of Nuix and experience of other eDiscovery platforms.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.
