At Words First, we work with schools and colleges to support children and young people with a wide range of needs, including sensory differences, motor challenges, autism, ADHD, and complex learning profiles. Our services support young people up to the age of 25.

Our therapists are part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Educational Psychologists, with specialist pathways including SEMH, trauma informed practice, and Sensory Integration.

This is a role for an OT who enjoys working in education settings, values collaboration, and wants to grow their clinical skills within a supportive team.

  • Supporting pupils with sensory processing, motor skills, regulation, and participation in education
  • Delivering assessments, intervention, and practical strategies for school and college staff
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, families, and other professionals
  • Contributing to interdisciplinary practice across Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Educational Psychology

  • Access to specialist development pathways including Sensory Integration (SI)
  • A clear and structured career growth pathway
  • Regular social and professional team gatherings
  • A diverse, warm, and collaborative therapist community

Many of our therapists tell us the best part of working at Words First is the team culture and the opportunity to learn from colleagues across disciplines.
